#10: Call of Duty Ghosts (Worst)

Call of Duty: Ghosts was the most unnecessary and most idiotic addition to the Call of Duty family. The game’s graphics were nothing on par with next-gen graphics, and the addition of the dog is not innovation, but desperation. The worse part is that the developers tried to innovate with Ghosts and they just destroyed some of the most enjoyable aspects of Call of Duty games (Huge maps with small amount of players is ridiculous!). The story of the campaign was also extremely generic, and very boring. The twists were too over the top to be true. It had one thing going for it though, the Extinction mode was a pretty good and fun with friends, but that doesn’t add to this horrible game. This may be just my opinion, but I think Call of Duty: Ghosts is easily the worst and most unnecessary Call of Duty game of all time!

ArinaBorina Score: 3.7/10 (Garbage)

#9: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

I think everyone reading this understand why Modern Warfare 3 is at the ninth place, meaning that the game is not good (or is basically, bad!). However, I fell quickly explain why this game is so horrible. This game is horrible, mostly because of its ugly graphics, generic and overly boring story, idiotic and unnecessary sequel, and lackluster online (still better than COD Ghosts). Aside from those horrible facts, this game is also extremely disappointing, following the excellent Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2. This game, though as not bad as Call of Duty: Ghosts, was a horrible addition to the Call of Duty franchise.

ArinaBorina Score: 4.4/10 (Horrible)

#8: Call of Duty 3

This game is not really good, and doesn’t live up to the test of time AT ALL! It feels boring, with generic, stereotypical war story. Bland gameplay, and horrible graphics. I know that this game is old … but I adore Call of Duty Classic and Call of Duty 2 which are even older than this game. This game is just generic, after the perfect Call of Duty (Classic) and Call of Duty 2, we get a game copying both those games and bringing nothing new to the table. It is just an okay game, that is why this is not on top of my list!

ArinaBorina Score: 6/10 (Mediocre)

#7: Call of Duty: World At War

Call of Duty

This game is fun and has some new and fun ideas in it, but the game is not perfect. It is just a fun call of duty game with some new elements, boring story, and fun multiplayer. The game is just okay, nothing amazing, just okay. I don’t have much else to say, the game is just very repetitive, copying off older Call of Duty games and adding some new elements to it. It is an okay Call of Duty game … for that reason it will not be very high on my list!

ArinaBorina Score: 6.8 (Mediocre)

#6: Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is extremely fun, with awesome maps, and very good game modes, however, the game is mostly the copy of the first Black Ops and the single-player campaign of the game, even though not bad, is not as good as Call of Duty: Black Ops’s campaign. It is a very fun game, if you want to play the game only for the multiplayer. A game that you could lose many hours in, and you would have fun at the same time! However, this game having too many recycled ideas from the first Black Ops makes this game not be so high on my list!

ArinaBorina Score: 7.5/10 (Very Good)

#5: Call of Duty

The one that started it all! The first call of duty is a very good game, not great, but very good. There was a lack of a decent story, but the gameplay made up for it, being a great 3D FPS game which led you kill other human beings … pretty cool! This game is nothing amazing, but what it brought to the table was cleverly new and addictive, however, the new ideas were not perfected (Spoilers … which is something that Call of Duty 2 build upon!). I love Call of Duty 1 or Call of Duty Classic, whatever you will call it, but I do think that the fifth spot is just about right!

ArinaBorina Score: 7.8/10 (Very Good)

#4: Call of Duty 2

Call_of_Duty_2_Box

This game is just so good. It has all the perfect elements of Call of Duty Classic and perfects each of them, making the difficulty more challenging, the story more engaging, and becoming overall, really fun. Call of Duty 2 brought in many ideas which Call of Duty 3 ripped off shamelessly. It really shows how new video game developers hold our hand through the whole game in new modern games, when a game like Call of Duty 2 on Veteran could be both extremely hard, and insanely fun. I love Call of Duty 2, but it being old, makes the charm go away for a little.

ArinaBorina Score: 8.2/10 (Great)

#3: Call of Duty: Black Ops

CoD_Black_Ops_cover

This is not the most loved Call of Duty game of all time by the Call of Duty community, but this is one of the only Call of Duty games that interested me in its campaign and had a fantastic multiplayer. The game is extremely fun, and is easily the best most recent Call of Duty game. I think that this should have been the game that would finish and end the franchise for good, because this title was still good, and a fitting ending to the franchise, but they had to go and milk this game. Giving unnecessary sequels out every single year!

ArinaBorina Score: 8.4/10 (Great)

#2: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2-box

The highly anticipated, extremely promising sequel to the fantastic Modern Warfare came along, and it was also another perfect game. The game’s campaign was gripping and interesting from the first moment, and the multiplayer was top-notch, with every incredible revolutionary Modern Warfare ideas being shaped to something even better. This game is fantastic, however, it did disappoint some people, mainly because the game was not as revolutionary as the original, and I will agree that the game was not as incredible, but that doesn’t mean that this game was not good.

ArinaBorina Score: 8.8/10 (Amazing)

#1: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Call_of_Duty_4_Modern_Warfare

Call of Duty had begun to feel irrelevant after Call of Duty 3 (just like the position the game is at this point, after Call of Duty: Ghosts), and then the shiny star, Call of Duty 4 completely saved the franchise, with an incredible campaign, great story, incredible characters, fantastic soundtrack, and the redefined revolutionary multiplayer, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was easily a success. The game was so well received from both critic and players that the game was milked heavily, to the last drop (hinting at Call of Duty Ghosts)!

ArinaBorina Score: 9.3/10

  1. they really need to upgrade there engine now for next gen, i should imagine we could see a good next gen game if they put there mind to it

  2. I also agree with that list. The only change that I would make is to put World at War in the #3 spot. I actually really liked that game.

  3. Call of Duty: Ghosts isn’t bad, it is just really fusterating to most players, and Ghosts is NOT the worst Call of Duty game of all time!
